The History of the West Wight Sports Centre is a story of real community spirit, triumph over adversity and sheer determination. It is the efforts of those people that have left the legacy of the sports centre which has become an integral part of the West Wight way of life and will do for generations to come.

The 1984-built/2022- scrapped Marella Celebration cruise ship (formerly "Thomson Celebration") was a leased vessel whose last owner was HAL-Holland America Line (subsidiary of Carnival Corporation ). The ship was built as MS Noordam and between 2005-2021 was operated (under a long-term charter) by the UK-based company Thomson Cruises/now.

The West Wight Sports and Community Centre offers a range of activities including Swimming pools, sports hall (which can be used for football, badminton, basketball etc.), gym, climbing wall, cafรฉ and over 50 adult fitness classes every week. We also provide children's activities including school holiday sports taster sessions.
